buildmaster Command Obsolete

ASE 12.5 no longer uses the buildmaster command. Instead, the dataserver

command or

sqlsrvr.exe for NT (the ASE product binary) has a new flag, -b, to

run in build mode. Use the

dataserver -b command where you used buildmaster

in the past.

Because of changes in the master device and database, as well as the

elimination of the

buildmaster command, recovery is more complex if you lose

your master device or database following an upgrade, Before upgrading. make

both a physical dump and a

bcp copy of the master database.
