Create New Virtual Disk Window

To create a virtual disk container file, follow the instructions listed below.

Steps for Creating a New Virtual Disk Container File

Step Description

Specify a name for the virtual disk container file in the field Virtual disk name.

Select the location on the host file system for the container file by the button and navigating to theclicking Location

correct path.

Select the virtual disk type from the drop-down list Virtual disk type.

If specifying the type of , enter the container file size as a number of 512 byte blocks at the field Custom Block

number.

If selecting an existing the field will be updated to match that model.Virtual disk type Block number

Click the button labelled to generate the virtual disk container file.Create

Depending on the size of the container file, this may take some time.

Creating a New Virtual Tape Container File

To begin creating a virtual tape container file, the button labelled in the SCSI device window. Thisclick Create vtape Virtual Machine Settings
